This business location, Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, is an underwhelming experience, especially for a historical site. The site itself is small, consisting of just a rock with a missing information plate. The history seems hidden away in a modern subdivision with poor signage, making it difficult to appreciate its significance. The lack of upkeep and maintenance is noticeable, with a gravel parking lot and a short walk through grass to reach the rock. The town could greatly benefit from replacing the missing sign, adding better wayfinding, and providing more historical context to make this site more engaging.While the site is good for kids, the surroundings are not exactly kid-friendly, with a storm drain and a housing development nearby. Unfortunately, the area has been defaced, vandalized, and shows signs of neglect, which is a shame for a historical site that could be an interesting stop.
